Our DevMan messaging service uses a third-party provider, Whapi, to route messages to the WhatsApp interface.

•To get started with the WhatsApp integration, you'll first need to create a Whapi account.

•Sign up here: https://whapi.cloud.

•When registering, please select the Developer Premium plan, as this is required for the integration to function correctly.

•You also need a mobile device with a WhatsApp Business number to connect to DevMan.

Before you can send messages via WhatsApp, recipients must first provide explicit consent (opt-in).

To support this, DevMan provides a structured consent process, similar to the POPIA consent workflow.

With this feature, you will be able to:

•send an opt-in request via email or SMS to a selected audience,

•track and record incoming opt-in responses automatically,

•enable WhatsApp communication only for users who have opted in.

You may choose to incorporate this consent step into your existing processes, such as student onboarding, to ensure users are opted in from the start.
